One day in Rome tour
Rome offers countless possibilities for visitors arriving for a few hours or a full day, and at Romio we specialize in creating customized day trip itineraries to Rome that maximize your time, comfort, and overall experience. Whether you’re arriving on a Civitavecchia port cruise or planning a short visit, our tailored routes allow you to see the highlights of the Eternal City without rushing—leaving you with unforgettable memories and a true taste of Rome.
For first-time visitors, we design a classic day trip to Rome that covers the city’s most iconic landmarks. Your journey begins in the heart of ancient Rome, exploring the Colosseum area, the Roman Forum, the Arch of Titus, and ascending to Capitoline Hill (Campidoglio), one of the most beautiful panoramic squares in the city. From there, the itinerary continues through Rome’s legendary piazzas: a stroll in Piazza Navona, a stop at the Pantheon, a visit to the Trevi Fountain, and on to the Spanish Steps at Piazza di Spagna. Along the way, you can enjoy historic cafés such as Antico Caffè Greco and admire luxury boutiques along Via dei Condotti. The day often concludes with a scenic stop at Castel Sant’Angelo Bridge, offering breathtaking views toward St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican.
For returning visitors or travelers looking for something different, we also offer alternative shore excursions in Rome. These can include the trendy Monti district with its local designer shops and restaurants, the lively Trastevere neighborhood across the Tiber, the peaceful Aventine Hill and the Orange Garden viewpoint, or a relaxed walk along Cola di Rienzo Avenue, known for its elegant cafés and shopping. Each route is carefully planned to suit your interests, answering the question many cruise travelers ask: what to see in Rome in 1 day.

Beach tour in Rome for groups of nine travelers or more
Starting in 2000, the city of Rome changed the rules for entering the city and prohibits the entry of large transportation vehicles, such as minibuses and buses, into the historic center of the city. The entry of these vehicles is only possible at designated points around the city, for dropping off and picking up passengers, and the city charges a fee of hundreds of euros for their stopping in this area. Therefore, the service in minibuses and buses in Rome has become inconvenient or profitable.
This restriction does not exist on vans of up to eight passengers and movement to and within Rome is free, as our drivers have a special visa to reach the ship’s entrance in the port and enter any area in Rome, in a way that will allow you to experience the best of the city in a short time and with maximum comfort. Large groups are welcome to contact us for advice.
For groups of nine travelers or more, the cost per van is 530 euros, divided by up to eight travelers in each van.
